Read on to learn how to prevent a share screen disaster.

Top client Keith Streckenbach https://pharmacystars.com invited me to an amazing business program in Redondo Beach.

Co-founders Todd Stevenson and Leon Sharyon were presenting about their ground breaking company, Abstract Ice, that has invented a new process to create customized, clear ice.  https://abstractice.com.

😵When they went to play their video, we could hear it, but not see it.

👁️This is a VISUAL product, so it was disappointing to not see this video.

💻This program was running hybrid, so they were using Share Screen to present.

🚀I felt like Scotty in Star Trek who gets the idea that he can beam 2 people from 2 different locations to 1 pad and runs yelling, “I can do that!”

❓During Q&A, I told them that I really want to see their videos and asked if I could try to get them to play?  They said, “SURE!”

When you Share Screen in Zoom, you can share the entire screen or just 1 app.
1) Choose 1 app if you don’t want your audience to see your other apps.
2) Choose Screen 1, 2 or 3 if you want the audience to see what you see.

In this case, only PowerPoint was shared.
In this case, PowerPoint launched a YouTube video.  This is a separate app which is why no one could see it.

In addition, make sure the “Share sound” and “Optimize for video clip” are checked so it can be heard and not appear “jerky” to those on virtual.

I told them I fixed it and when I played the video, CHEERS ERUPTED as all 50 business owners could see and hear their amazing video.

If you Share Screen, make sure you:
1) Share Entire Screen (and the right screen if you have multiple screens) or specific app
2) Check “Share sound” and “Optimize for video clip” if you’re showing a video

I hope this tip prevents that “Zawkward” moment when your share screen doesn’t work.
