I’m a member of LaughNSA, a group of National Speakers Association that specializes in humor.
At their largest conference, Influence, LaughNSA puts on a Friday night comedy show to welcome attendees.
This is my 2nd year being the producer for LaughNSA.
Dave Caperton is the leader of this group and his vision was to create a video called, “It’s All AI”. He re-wrote the lyrics to “A Whole New World”. He then handed it to me to turn it into a video.
Amazing speaker and vocalist Jane Jenkins Herlong and I sang the lyrics.
And then I went to work on AI video generation.
I have not extensively used Image to Video so I thought this would be a great test of how good is AI video generation…really.
Read below to see all the AI video generation sites I used, the photo I used and the prompt I used to create each clip. BONUS, I even included many of the “failures” along the way.
Here’s what I learned creating the “It’s All AI” video:
1) It’s All AI – AI created spectacular videos. Me flying in to a keynote stage. Mimi Brown skydiving. Tom Pesce playing sitar with fireworks. Terry Brock having gifts exploding on stage with him. Anna Liotta having a beverage with a double rainbow. These were all created jusing using their headshot and a prompt.
2) Prompting is STILL The Skill To Learn – If you want better AI results, learn to prompt better. Akin to the butterfly effect, small changes in your prompt can yield large changes in the result. While we can learn more, continued learning in advanced prompting will get you better results with AI.
3) When AI Gets It Wrong, It Gets It Right – Patricia Fripp had her face melded with another person at a Coldplay concert. Ford Saeks skating across a lake when I asked him to swim. Kenneth Kinney with sharks coming out of his back. When AI gets it wrong, it’s hilarious when you’re working on a comedy show.
4) AI Video Still Takes Time – While you don’t rent a location, hire a video crew, & have talent, I still spent 20 hours in creating all these clips, editing them in, and getting approval from every person I used.
5) My Fingers Are Sora From Waiting – AI is slow. Sora is still in beta and often the website stopped responding to me. Other AI engines needed significant time to render the videos. My tactic was to have 2-4 renderings happening at once.
6) Not Ready For Prime Time – While the ads and news stories shows extraordinary results, my personal observation is that Image to Video AI is not replacing Hollywood yet. BUT, it does allow normal people like you and I to dream and see what is possible now.
7) Check Your Ethics At The Door – Everyone is in a different place with AI. Best practices is to ask someone before you use AI with someone’s image. Every person in this video gave me their permission to use this video.
My end result: LAUGHS! I got amazing comments like “Hilarous!”, “Brilliant!” and “I love it!” from our Friday night performance.

This example goes to show that borrowing prompt engineering doesn’t always work. While nothing that I wanted, that is what made it funny, including the mic transition into a lantern. AI gets it wrong.
