I’m John Chen, the CEO of Geoteaming, your expert on team building. On February 3rd, 2020, the GHCA or the Georgia Healthcare Association participated in a Geoteaming program. This program focused on networking and team building. After reviewing gigabytes of data, we learned that there are 6 steps to GHCA team success:
#1 Communicating – Team 26 shows early promise as they listened to direction and completed their team name and team cheer early. While we may all know that winning teams communicate, our video analysis shows that winning teams never shut up! Team 26 constantly communicated through the entire program in small groups and as a large group. In contrast, non-winning teams stop talking for 1, 10, 20 minutes or more!
#2 Yes And – This team listens to each other and accepts each others ideas to complete missions. In this non-winning team, you can hear a teammate say no to another teammate’s idea and reduces the overall results of this team.
#3 Huddle – This team huddles 3 key times during the program to ensure everyone is on the same page and makes decisions together
#4 Strategy – Team 26 did not have a clear strategy from the beginning. During one of their critical huddles, this team decides 1/2 way through the program that their main strategy is big points. This strategy moves them from 6th place all the way to 1st place and inspires a big, late jump in points to ensure their victory.
#5 Use Their Resources – This team got multiple phones logged into to help maximize their resources. They used stairs, an outside resource, to create their pyramid with less risk. Most of all, they used every minute of game time to score missions all the way to the end.
#6 Celebrates And Has Fun – This team celebrates their small victories and has fun with each challenge.
This is the first year the GHCA used an interactive team building program as part of their conference. Read what participants had to say!
“Thank you so much Geoteaming. Please know that you and your team have really made this convention so much fun and exciting. Many of us on Team 30 are very driven but often operate in our own comfort zone, however we took this challenge and utilized all of our personalities and strengths in order to achieve an ALMOST WIN. Beast Wishes for your continued success in working with others. You do make a difference!!” -Andrea Hartley
“This game was a wonderful way to get to know my peers. The missions were a lot of fun and I thought the scavenger hunt aspect was a great way to get familiar with the surrounding area. I would love to participate in this again!” – John Rowe
“I’ve been coming to this conference for 16 years and this has been the BEST session I have ever attended! Thank you Geoteaming and thank you GHCA! – GHCA Participant
